![]() ![]() ![]() With a network-switch (or in-house router) the limitation is just only the number of network ports and capacity of switch/router. Nonetheless, w/ the iConnectivity mio interfaces, it´s possible to connect at least 2 computers to the same interface and/or stack more interfaces via network as also connect more devices via network. The network solution seems to be the best and allows connecting machines located in different rooms via network (switch & pwr-line adapters) and the existing in-house power line. Now, when upgrading to Reason 10/11,- I might get problems. In fact I HATE USB MIDI, especially for outgoing MIDI ! I use(d) RSN since version 3 up to v6.5,- but that was all WinXP Pro SP3 and Intel P4/ dual core,- where I was able using Midi interfaces w/ 32Bit drivers connected to parallel port which was dead-on stable and tight. I like Reason because of the modular approach, which I find also in S|C (former Creamware) SCOPE or p.ex. The main question was related to Reason, Win7 Pro 64Bit, PC and the iConnectivity stuff. You see,- not only ONE computer,- and there are also older MAC (running Logic & Sounddiver) as also ATARI (Notator SL) machines I grew up with,- but that´s a different story. I´d need "some" Din-MIDI ports as well as USB (for MIDI-In. Interesting for sure,- but I don´t use eurorack modules,- instead lots of 19" rack gear, Oberheim Xpander, Minimoog D w/ LMC-2, Kurzweil PC3, several other keyboards, S|C XITE-1 and a "old" Creamware PCI DSP card as well, both connected/ built (in)to different PCs and using DIN-MIDI. I’ve got a crazy setup going, with 16 of my 72 outputs dedicated as either MIDI or Din Sync 24 outputs, plus the ability to send MIDI or clock signals of any sort on 40 others. Expert Sleepers hardware is by far the most accurate link between your DAW and your MIDI gear. I know not everyone is going to have the ability to spring for such a setup, but Expert Sleepers hardware is by far the most accurate link between your DAW and your MIDI gear. That’s where you’re going to have serious lag. If you must connect via USB, then the link between your computer via USB and the MIDI interface is your weakest link. I thought you could only connect it to your machine via USB, and then you connect your network to the mio4 or mio10. I’ve not tried to connect it via network, which would be very interesting. I have a mio4, and I’ve only been using it for MIDI in and occasionally for MIDI out when I’m backing up presets from a synth I’m repairing. Since network has high priority in every OS (Mac or PC),- means higher priority than USB p.ex.,- it promises to be the tightest solution. It seems to be much more interesting than the Alyseum USB3 interface ´cause iConnectivity officially supports rtpMIDI (MIDI over LAN) which allows stacking interfaces and reduces cables as well. outboard gear and usage via network/network switch is highly appreciated. Does anyone use with Reason 7 -10.4 on PC and Win7Pro 64Bit ?Īny info/experience according to usage w/ USB and DinMIDI for ext.
